Australia's Wollongong region has just seen 60 churches band together in a combined effort to reach their district for Jesus.
Senior minister of Wollongong Anglican cathedral, Sandy Grant was one of the mission drivers. He joins Dominic Steele to talk through the wins and lessons from the mission, “Jesus is ___”.
Bishop Peter Hayward says in the jesus-is.org.au mission month 450 people made a decision to follow Jesus (either a new decision or a recommitment). There were 2,100 new contacts from 'Jesus is ____' events and 350 new contacts made from church activities.
10,200 people attended a one-off 'Jesus is _____' event (excluding school assemblies and regular church activities). It's estimated that there were more than 6,000 'Jesus is _______' conversations across the region during the mission month. 6,500 handouts were given out to commuters, and 100,000 homes were letterboxed.
8,500 items of 'Jesus is _____' merchandise (t-shirts, badges, wristbands) were distributed.
